A variome is the totality of biological variation within any population.
Variome usually refers to biological diversity within species. Therefore it reflects a short period of evolution. The variation among species is called biodiversity or bioversity.
In practice, a variome can be the sum of small variation in populations such as repeats and SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms).
